Lost Dutchman Days Rodeo Queen Report | ||||

by Carri Dixon Rumor has it, "Time flies when your having fun" and I would have to agree. It's already August, our "Arizona August" at that!! We are almost through 100+ degree summer days and the monsoons are here. The monsoon season is wonderful and dangerous all at the same time. It brings much needed rain, and the beautiful lightning storms, which, unfortunately can cause more forest fires. And after the Rodeo/Chetiski fire, we are not looking forward to another one. But we still have a couple of months to go before the fire season is over. I am proud of the way our friends, neighbors, and complete strangers pulled together to assist evacuees, law enforcement, and the Fire Fighters in support of the fire season. Thank you for being there with all your help and support! I had a short visit at the 2002 Prescott Frontier Days, The World's Oldest Rodeo due to the fire activities. During my visit, I had an opportunity to enjoy a marvelous morning for a Rodeo Parade and to meet some lovely ladies of the Red Hat Club. The 2003 Prescott Rodeo Queen and Court pageant was a hard one to judge, all the contestants did an outstanding job. Keep Smiling Ladies! Congratulations to Miss Megan on achieving her goal of becoming Miss Prescott Frontier Days 2003. Miss Teen Rodeo Arizona 2002 pageant in Scottsdale will be another exciting pageant to watch. It will be packed full of talent, personality, and smiles but only two girls will come home with titles. Best of Luck to all the young ladies!! Escaping to Payson for the 118th Annual World's Oldest Continuous Rodeo and Parade is our next stop I can hardly wait. I look forward to seeing good friends, a great parade, and exciting rodeo action! Hope to see you there!
