The Arizona Quarter Horse Association and the Arizona Sun Country Circuit were delighted to again benefit the Arizona Humane Society's Stardust Equestrian Therapy Program with proceeds from the SCC Stallion Auction Service and gate. A check for close to $23,000 was presented during the filming of the Pets on Parade segment of the Arizona Humane Society. The Stardust program is housed at the New Campus for Compassion nestled at the base of South Mountain at 15th Avenue and Dobbins. They have a 16 stall barn, covered arena and numerous turn-out pens. The goal of this program is to change the behavior of troubled youth for whom traditional therapies have proven unsuccessful. We encourage everyone to check out this new facility. 15 dogs and 8 cats were also adopted out at the Sun Country Circuit this year. It was fun to see all the dogs proudly walking around with their red bandana saying they had a new home. I think the Hamilton family won the most adoptions, thank you! We are also pleased to announce that a donation valued at $20,000 was also given to one of the AQHA Foundation's program on equine reproduction. We would like to thank all of the Stallion owners who graciously donated the services of their stallions and to the many mare owners who bid.
